Enhance your child’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development through gentle and intentional exposure to peers, the natural world, and their community.

We use friendship, art, stories, imaginative play, movement, and exploration to equip you and your Wild Wanderer with the skills and confidence to thrive in the world beyond the trails and trees of Fall Run Park.

FAQs

Wild Wanderers is a nature-based enrichment option for children ages 2.5-5. It is a wonderful addition to children in traditional preschool or homeschool. It is also a great fit for families who prefer a gentle and intentional approach to learning and connecting with others prior to a more structured academic setting.

No. There is a port-a-john located on site near the entrance to the nature trail. Caregivers are expected to assist their child with bathroom needs.

We strongly believe that a caregiver is the most important piece to developing child confidence. The program will gradually wean caregiver assistance and proximity to their child, progressing to mostly an “observer” role. Caregivers are expected to navigate the outdoor terrain with the group. The environment allows opportunities to closely connect to likeminded caregivers during this phase of life with a preschooler while the guide facilitates the group.

Fall Run Park is a nature trail with various terrain (rock, gravel, dirt, grass, walking bridges) and a few moderate hills. A stream follows the trail with areas that are steep hills leading to water. Water is accessible by foot in many areas. It is mostly shaded and typically cooler when entering the trail.

Siblings are welcome to join the caregiver, as long as it is not a distraction to the child participating with their peers in the group. We do value the importance of families connecting with others in a similar phase of life.

Like most enrichment classes, refunds are not offered in the event of an absence. However, you will receive an email summary and tips to complete activities on your own time.

A fresh snack for the mini meal time, off site field trip, special guests, a feeding program co-developed with a feeding therapist, materials for your child, communications and resources to support your learning between group sessions.

An exploration food will be provided for group learning, however, it is encouraged to bring your child’s preferred foods to eat and add to the food provided for a positive food experience.

Yes, we work through different weather conditions as it can be a great opportunity to work through natural challenges and provide positive interactions for intentional play outdoors. In the event of extreme weather like thunderstorms, flooding, unsafe icy roads, the session will be canceled with notification via text/email one hour prior to the class. A back-up indoor space close to Fall Run Park is available for our programs during harsh outdoor conditions that are still safe for traveling by vehicle.

Consider bringing the following: snack, water, towel, change of clothes, weather appropriate clothing/shoes, bug spray, sunscreen.
