Functional Play in Nature

Turn on your “Spidey senses” as we become nature ninjas in this 8-week sensory enrichment program with Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Jamie Baumgardner. Participants will put their strength, agility, and sensory processing skills to test as they navigate nature obstacles and complete individual and team missions. Caregivers are present throughout the program with the opportunity to build your own “Nature Ninja Home Mission” guide of activities. The Functional Roots Nature Ninja program can help advance childrens’ sensory-motor and social-emotional skills that are a foundation for learning and thriving in daily life.

What to Expect:

This will be a small group (between 3-6 kids) held at Fall Run Park in Glenshaw, PA. We’ll focus on the following areas through fun “ninja” activities/games with peers of similar ages/goals during an 8-week program with 60 minute sessions each week:

The first and last sessions will include a skills “test” so that your child can see how their ninja skills improve throughout the program. A private chat/resource room will be provided to continue to make progress between sessions.

Sessions are led by Jamie Baumgardner, Occupational Therapist and Mom ♥

"For the first time I’m seeing my son's confidence in an activity with peers that actually meets his strengths rather than forces him to just follow directions. He asks me daily if it’s the day to go to Nature Ninjas. I love that we can easily carry over fun "missions" at home and I know it’s all part of helping him feel more calm and coordinated."
